Last week marked the 4th time I have not only seen Social Distortion live, but also the 3rd time shooting them. Social D is not only my favorite band of all time, but my first show going pro was in fact Social D when they played Seattle's Showbox SoDo in 2009. I have also covered the band while they played a sold out show at McMennamin's Crystal Ballroom in Portland, OR early last year. However, the band was playing numerous dates in the Pacific Northwest and although I had a choice between Seattle, Portland, and Kennewick. I chose to go with Spokane. This was actually the first time shooting at The Knitting Factory as well. Although I wasn't happy that the band didn't play anything from Mommy's Little Monster and chose to stick with their commercial hits, I always have a blast when Social D comes to town.
